Lake Nakuru, famous for its abundant birdlife and home to the Rothschild giraffe and rhino, is an excellent place to stop as you travel from north to south. Finally, finish your safari in the Masai Mara, home to the big five and the incredible spectacle known as The Great Migration.

So, come with us to explore wild Kenya in this  6-Days Samburu-Mara-Lake Nakuru Safari. This is a safari packed with beautiful majestic animals, scenic road trips, and colour cultural experiences. The Safari activity will include game drives; camping; birding; scenic photography; visits to the Maasai and Samburu cultural villages.

Explore:
Samburu National Park

Located in northern Kenya, Samburu is known to host high populations of rare animal species. You will see the Grevy’s Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, and Pancake turtles. Excitingly, the park’s vast savannah provides a perfect game drive experience. Be sure to look out for the African elephants and rhinos which have found sanctuary here.

Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru, National Park is best known for the thousands of pink flamingos that nest along its shores. Open Savannah and a generally warm climate make this park perfect for game drives, birdwatching, and wild photography.

Masai Mara National Reserve

From July to October, the Masai Mara is famous for the annual Great Migration of Zebras, Thomson’s gazelles, and wildebeest from and to the Serengeti. The park has favourable open savannah and an abundance of other wildlife.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Nairobi – Samburu

Our driver/guide will pick you up from the airport/hotel early in the morning. After a short briefing, your road trip to Samburu National Park will begin in a 4×4 luxury tour cruiser. Arrive in time for lunch, and relax at the lodge waiting for an evening game drive.

The park is colourfully vibrant with semi-nomadic Samburu tribesmen. The great table mountain Ololokwe serves as the backdrop for the  Reserve. Be on the lookout for a Lion, Leopard, and Cheetah for this drive.

Stay at either: Sarova Shaba Game Lodge (Luxury), Ashnil Samburu Camp (Mid Range) Samburu Simba Lodge, or Elephant Bedroom Camp ( High End).

DAY 2
Samburu full-day Game Drive

After breakfast, you will embark on a full-day game drive through the park with a bush picnic lunch. This game drive has a high probability of large herbivore sightings. Be on the lookout for the reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebra, long-necked Gerenuk gazelle, straight-horned Beisa Oryx, and blue-necked Somali ostriches, only found in this part of Kenya.

  • You can also visit the neighbouring Samburu villages and enjoy their traditional dances, and skilful beadworks.
DAY 3
Samburu – Nakuru

After an early breakfast, check out and go on an en-route game drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive at lunchtime, check in and relax, before the evening game drive.

Lake Nakuru National Park is a world-class “Bird Watchers’ Paradise.” The park is recognized as one of the world’s natural wonders, with the flamingos being the main attraction. It also offers sanctuary white and black rhinos and Rothschild’s giraffe among other big games.

Full board accommodations at either: Lake Nakuru Lodge, Mbweha Camp, Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge (Luxury), or The Cliff (High End).

DAY 4
Nakuru- Masai Mara

After an early breakfast, drive along the Great Rift Valley floor to the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch, relaxing for a while before a late afternoon game drive.

For this drive, look out for the big cats often found lying under the trees. Herds of Zebra, elephant, buffalos and giraffes are also easy sightings.

Stay at either: Mara Maisha Camp, Enkorok Mara Camp (Mid-range), Mara Serena Safari Lodge, or Tipilikwani Mara Campa (Luxury). 

DAY 5
Masai Mara Full-day game drive

After breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch for a full day of game viewing in this well-known national reserve. You will see thousands of wildlife species such as hippos in the Mara River, lions, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, leopards, various antelopes, and elephants. If you are lucky to visit between July to October, you will love witnessing the thrilling annual wildebeest migration.

DAY 6
Masai Mara-Nairobi

After breakfast checkout and head back to Nairobi. Drop off at the airport or your pre-booked hotel room in Nairobi.

Day 1

Nairobi - Samburu

Early morning hotel pick-up and safari briefing by our tour representative. After the driving, the Safari to Samburu National Reserve begins. Arrival time is set at lunchtime.  Check into your camp/lodge where you will enjoy lunch, and relax.

Samburu evening game drive

In the evening, go on a game drive in the park. The park is colourfully vibrant with semi-nomadic Samburu tribesmen. The great table mountain Ololokwe serves as the backdrop for Reserve. For this drive, be kin to spot the African cats including Lion, Leopard, and Cheetah.   Dinner and a night's stay at the camp/lodge.

Day 2

Samburu full day Game Drive

Breakfast at the lodge/camp, followed by an early morning game drive.  This game drive has a high probability of large herbivore sightings. Be on the lookout for the reticulated giraffes, Grevy's zebra, long-necked Gerenuk gazelle, straight-horned Beisa Oryx, and blue-necked Somali ostriches, only found in this part of Kenya.

  • After the drive, enjoy dinner and a night's stay at the camp/lodge.
Day 3

Samburu - Nakuru

After an early breakfast, check out and go on an en-route game drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive at lunchtime, check-in and relax, before the evening game drive.

Located at the bottom of the Great Rift Valley, Lake Nakuru National Park is a world-class "Bird Watchers Paradise." This park also has white and black rhinos among other big games like hippo, buffalo and giraffe.

  • Dinner & overnight stay at lake Nakuru lodge/Flamingo hill camp/Sarova game lodge 
Day 4

Nakuru- Masai Mara

After an early breakfast, drive along the Great Rift Valley floor to the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch, check in at the Camp/Lodge, enjoy lunch and relax.

Masai Mara afternoon game  drive

Afternoon game drives to explore the Masai Mara Game Reserve. For this drive, look out for the big cats often found lying under the trees. Herds of Zebra, elephant, buffalos and giraffe are also easy sightings. 

  • Dinner and overnight stay at Enkorok Mara camp, Mara Simba lodge, AA lodge, Sentrim Mara.
Day 5

Masai Mara

Full day game drive

After breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch for a full day of game viewing in this well-known national reserve. You will see thousands of wildlife species such as buffalos, hippos in the Mara River, lions, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, leopards, various antelopes, and elephants. From July to September, millions of wildebeest and zebra migrate from the Serengeti to the Mara in search of abundant water and pasture.

Day 6

Masai Mara-Nairobi

After breakfast checkout and head back to Nairobi. Drop off at the airport or your pre-booked hotel room in Nairobi.
